What are Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy?
Hypnosis is a normal state where you feel very relaxed and in which the unconscious mind can receive instructions. Hypnosis is a state of altered consciousness in which our subconscious mind is more open and receptive to suggestions that are given. We alternate between the different levels of consciousness many times a day, for example when daydreaming.
Hypnotherapy is a form of psychotherapy where hypnosis and trance are used as therapeutic means to achieve the desired change. Hypnosis techniques are meant to change the way you think and feel and that will result in changed behaviour.
Am I asleep during hypnotherapy?
No, you won't fall asleep. Sleep and hypnosis are two very different states of consciousness. Hypnosis a dreamy altered state of consciousness. You will be conscious, experience everything and be so deeply relaxed that you feel like your floating through different levels of awareness. However, your subconscious mind is active at all times and this is the state of consciousness that the hypnotherapist works with.
Can hypnotherapy help me and why doesn't everybody do it?
Unfortunately, many people do not know that hypnosis can solve many problems one might have. Clinical hypnotherapy is particularly suitable for making changes in the subconscious mind. There has been a lot of misunderstanding because of how hypnosis has been shown for entertainment. Hypnotherapy is safe, we at Luminous Transformational Coaching are ethical practitioners and everything that happens during your sessions is completely confidential.
How does hypnosis work exactly?
Hypnosis is a very natural state of being. For example, daydreaming or doing things in 'flow' is the same as being in hypnosis. In this state, we will use mechanisms that the brain already naturally has to make changes in the subconscious mind.
I have never experienced hypnosis, what can I expect?
Hypnosis is very relaxing and a very special experience. You retain control at all times. A hypnotherapist can only change what you want to change.
How does it feel to be in hypnosis?
You won't be unconscious rather you will hear and experience everything that goes on during the session. You may feel very relaxed and focused at the same time. It is very similar to guided meditation, you will be guided by the voice of the hypnotherapist to work out negative beliefs and reinforce positive ones.
What if I discover things that I'm not ready for yet?
Your subconscious will not give you more than you can handle. This is a natural protection of the subconscious mind.
What happens if I can’t relax, be hypnotized or get into a trance?
We will do our best to help you relax and guide you through the process.
Anybody who allows it can be hypnotised will be, there no such thing as not being able to be hypnotised get in a trance. Everyone has experienced a state of trance, usually without being aware of it, for example when you are so engrossed in a book or a movie that you don't hear someone call your name or while daydreaming, getting so absorbed in your inner world that the outside world fades away.

What does a hypnotherapist do?
A hypnotherapist has a broad education and gives you insight into the 'how' and 'why' of a problem by identifying and solving limiting beliefs in hypnosis.
Can I get stuck in hypnosis?
No, this is not possible. The hypnotherapist will cancel the hypnosis or you can stop the process yourself anytime.
Can I lose control of myself during the sessions?
When you are in a trance you do not lose control but actually, gain more control because you get a deeper insight and feel more energetic.
Can the hypnotherapist make me do things I don't want to?
No, that's impossible. A hypnotherapist can't make you "do things" that you normally wouldn't do in everyday life.
Will I be telling the therapist all of my private information?
Your subconscious will always protect you and you are only able to tell the things you want to tell. With hypnotherapy, you are in control of what happens from start to finish and you don't do anything you don't want to.
Will my sessions consist of only talking and hypnotherapy or is there more to it?
At Luminous Transformational Coaching, we combine skills and knowledge from different healing modalities. During the first assessment, it will be determined by the therapist which methods will be applied.
For example, CAM Transformational Coaching, energy healing through Reiki, A transformational therapy that changes behaviour called Negative Neuro-Pathway Reversal Therapy(NNRT), Clinical Hypnotherapy, Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), Spiritual life coaching, Regression therapy, weight loss through the non-invasive, painless, and safe method called Virtual Gastric Band and much more.
Can I be hypnotized against my will?
No, your willingness is necessary to achieve a state of hypnosis.
Can I be hypnotized without knowing it?
This is also not possible. You must be willing to get into hypnosis.
Can life coaching help me if I don't have a specific goal in life?
At Luminous Transformational Coaching, we can help you change that by finding out your true purpose.
Are the changes effective and for how long will they last?
The changes are, in the vast majority of cases, immediate and permanent.
How fast can I experience any changes?
Everyone reacts differently to hypnosis. It is important to realize that hypnosis is not an all-or-nothing situation. For some people, this may seem instant and right after the first session. Others experience the change gradually. They can see a partial change through one session and the change gets bigger each time they come back. Ultimately, they too will experience the full desired effect.
Why does the number of sessions differ per package or programme?
Each package & programme has its own depth and structure. By approaching each case in the right way, we can provide an estimate of the sessions needed for the best possible care. Together with the hypnotherapist, you will ultimately determine the final number of sessions.
I don't know if hypnosis is for me, how can I know if this will benefit me?

Is Hypnotherapy the same as stage hypnosis?
No, the purpose of stage hypnosis is entertainment. Hypnotherapy is meant to help someone with a problem. The suggestions given to volunteers during stage hypnosis are meant to evoke a more visible response purely for entertainment, whilst the suggestions that are given in Hypnotherapy are to help the person solve his or her problem. Hypnotherapy is absolutely confidential and private.

How do I know which package or programme is suitable for me?
There is a variety of packages and programs to address different situations and to direct the sessions. Depending on the client’s goals and how they wish to achieve these, an assessment will be made for each individual to determine the right package or programme. Are there payment plans?
Yes, there is. Please contact us or book an inquiry beforehand to discuss this option.
What if I miss a booked session?
If you miss your appointment you will not be entitled to a refund.

The programme's and/or packages will be customized based upon your needs and so will the price.

What is NLP?
NLP stand for Neuro-Linguistic Programming and is a method in the field of communication and personal development. You can learn to communicate effectively with yourself and others through multiple techniques, that will increase your personal development. NLP offers concrete tools to gain insight into our behaviour and to change it if desired.

What is the difference between hypnosis and NLP?
Hypnosis is not the same as Neuro-linguistic programming (NLP). NLP is part of hypnosis but hypnosis goes beyond NLP because you enter a deeper level of the subconscious.
What does a Life coach do?
A Life Coach gives advice on how to make yourself happier through certain lifestyle changes and coaches you to shape your own personal, business and social life.

What if I need to speak to my therapist? (outside of the sessions)
This will only be possible if the consent was given by the therapist during the assessment or later sessions.
How will the therapy sessions be done, is it online or face to face?
It's mostly done virtually because we have clients all over the world. If the client prefers face to face then that's possible, book an inquiry for more information.
How can I make a payment?
We currently have two options. Through Paypal or a bank transfer after the invoice is sent to you.
